Caprani Beech Arc Floor Lamp

The arm is a single piece of solid beech, steamed and bent into its curve rather than joined from straight sections, so the wood grain runs continuously from base to shade with no visible seams along the sweep.

The shade is knife-pleated in an ivory cotton-blend fabric, finished with a soft under-liner that diffuses the bulb into an even, warm wash rather than a single bright point. It sits at a slight forward tilt, angling the light over a chair or reading corner.

A cast iron crescent base keeps the footprint small without sacrificing stability, and an in-line foot switch on the cord makes it easy to turn on and off without reaching up to the shade.

Size guide: At 62 in tall with a 19.7 in shade, it is sized to stand beside a sofa or armchair and arc the light over the seat. Allow about 2 ft of floor space for the base, and place it so the shade sits slightly behind and above your shoulder for reading.
