Ribbed glass is what makes this one work. The flutes break the light into fine vertical bands as it leaves the shade, which is why a 1920s fixture reads as warm rather than flat, and why it sits comfortably in a modern room as well as a period one.

The frame is iron and metal with a handcrafted vintage finish, and the whole fixture sits flush to the ceiling rather than hanging. That makes it usable in hallways, bedrooms and any room where a pendant would be in the way.

The integrated LED runs at 3000K and puts out 4,180 lumens, enough to be the only light source in most rooms.

Size guide: At 15.7 in across, it is sized to light a living room or bedroom on its own. In hallways, plan on one fixture about every 8 to 10 ft. At just 5.1 in high, it keeps plenty of headroom on ceilings as low as 7.5 ft.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big and how bright is it?

It is 15.7 in across and 5.1 in deep, and puts out 4,180 lumens. That is enough to light a standard living room or bedroom on its own.

How does it install?

It mounts flush to a standard ceiling junction box on a ceiling that can hold at least 15 lbs, which a normal drywall ceiling does. We recommend a licensed electrician.

How is it powered?

It is hardwired into the ceiling and runs off a standard on and off wall switch. The LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to buy.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is free on every order across the US. Orders are processed within 0–1 business days, and a link to track your order is emailed to you within 24 hours.

Who is behind Vemillo?

Vemillo is an independent lighting shop based in Maryland, started by Noah to bring well-made lighting to real homes without the designer markup. Every email is answered personally at info@vemillo.com, usually within 1–2 business days.
